What is CBD?

CBD Extract naturally contains compounds called phytocannabinoids, which are produced from the stem, leaves, and buds of the hemp plant.  These compounds interact with receptors in our bodies that produce various effects.  Dr. Mechoulam, an organic chemist and professor of Medicinal Chemistry, discovered the first phytocannabinoids.  It was discovered that our bodies naturally produce similar compounds, call endocannabinoids.  Why do our bodies make these compounds?  To support our Endocannabinoid System (ECS), which is a series of receptors located on cells all throughout the body.  The ECS helps regulate various biological processes, including homeostatic functions.  In some cases, it could use a little assistance!!  That’s where hemp comes in!!  Cannabinoids are very similar to endocannabinoids.  They interact with the same receptors for an incredible, non-toxic way to support the ECS.
